Jeff Jacobson

In 2010, Jeff Jacobson founded Clocktower Tax Credits, LLC to specialize in the placement of federal and state tax credits with institutional investors including corporations, banks and insurance companies. A pioneer in state tax credits with over twenty years of experience, Jeff has structured and closed transactions in more than thirty states. He is a frequent speaker at industry forums and seminars on the tax credit marketplace. From 2001 to 2010, Jeff was a principal with Foss and Company, a national leader in brokering tax credit investments, where he raised over $250 million in equity capital. Prior to this, he acquired tax credit interests for syndicator Boston Capital and for the portfolios of both GE Capital and Edison International. Jeff’s past experience also includes developing and financing regional malls, casino resorts and residential properties. Jeff holds a B.S. in Engineering from Cornell University and an M.S. in Real Estate from MIT.  Jeff is a Registered Representative of Northeast Securities, Inc. a member of FINRA and holds a Series 7 and 63 license.

Sue Ellyn Idelson joined Clocktower Tax Credits in 2015 as an Acquisitions Associate focusing on Real Estate-based Tax Credits including Historic Rehabilitation and Affordable Housing.  She also works with developers Brownfields tax credits in Massachusetts, New York and Florida, assisting clients with the transfers of these Tax Credit Certificates.  Sue Ellyn primarily covers the New England region and Florida. She helps project developers structure their tax credit financing and then monetize their tax credits to meet project equity needs.

Sue Ellyn’s previous experience in financial services includes managing a Capital Markets Trading Desk Team, as well as leadership positions in a Project and Relationship Management capacity within Fidelity Investment’s Institutional Services Division.  She has also held various sales positions in the insurance industry.  She holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Vermont.

David Curtis joined Clocktower Tax Credits 2016 as an Acquisitions Associate specializing in Real Estate-based tax credit transactions and the New Markets Tax Credit Program.  David focuses on over 30 state and federal Historic Rehabilitation tax credit programs nationwide, helping real estate developers of historically certified properties access financing through the monetization of tax credits.  In addition, he is proficient in the New Markets Tax Credit program, assisting firms in subsidized financing for upcoming business developments in severely distressed communities, helping to create jobs and economic activity in marginalized areas across the country.

Prior to working at Clocktower, David has experience as a commodities analyst at a hedge fund, as well as business management experience at a gluten-free beer company.  He is fluent in Spanish, and holds a B.A. in Economics and Hispanic Studies from Hamilton College, where he founded the Investment Club and Chess Club, achieving an ICC chess rating of 1550.

Nathan Howe joined Clocktower Tax Credits in 2017 as an Acquisitions Associate specializing in Film & Media Production and Renewable Energy Tax Credits.  Nathan assists filmmakers and developers throughout the United States in monetizing state film tax credits along with state and federal Renewable Energy Tax Credits.  Additionally, Nathan has worked with international firms to secure federal tax credits to bolster economic activity in the United States.

Prior to joining Clocktower, Nathan was a Portfolio Manager in the Macro Sector for the Bentley Investment Group and previously worked in wealth management.  Nathan holds a B.S. in Finance from Bentley University.

David Weinstein joined Clocktower Tax Credits in 2017 as an Acquisitions Associate and covers projects in the Midwest and Western U.S. He specializes in Historic Preservation and Low Income Housing Tax Credits at both the state and federal level.

Prior to joining Clocktower, he worked first as an accountant in the reinsurance field, and later sold residential real estate in the Boston area. His lifelong appreciation for historic architecture led him to restore an early Federal Colonial house from the ground up, giving him insight into the challenges facing developers who historically preserve older properties.  Dave holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Connecticut at Storrs and enjoys sailing, photography, and woodworking.

Office Manager

Heather Martel joined Clocktower Tax Credits in 2017 as the Office Manager.  Heather is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations at Clocktower Tax Credits, including: Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Facilities Management.  This includes organization and coordination of office operations, procedures and resources to facilitate organizational effectiveness and efficiency. Previously, she worked as a manager for both an Editorial Firm and a Design Firm.

Heather has over 15 years’ experience in office management and has developed a wide variety of skill sets which include Accounting, Editorial, Human Resources, Customer Service, and Information Technology.  She holds a B.S. in Business Management from Fitchburg State University.
